In this year’s NFL Championship game, the Rams look for revenge after getting out-scored 45-35 in New Orleans on November 4th. Unfortunately, the Rams will not have home field advantage in this game as well. However, their offense looks even better than it did in November.
Using our stat model, we have both teams listed at almost dead equal. The line opened at -3 NO but moved up to -3.5 and has now started to move back to the 3. Remember, 3 and 7 are the two most important numbers in NFL football wagering. We will play the Rams in a 6 point teaser to cover both of these numbers giving us LA at +9.5.
The AFC Championship game features two teams with recent performance that is almost identical. Chiefs lost two close games in December to the Chargers and the Seahawks. Patriots took a similar path in December losing to Pittsburgh and Miami. Our stat model gives Kansas City a slight edge but not enough to justify going in the direction. The line opened at -3 Chiefs and has remained solid on that number. With Brady and Belechik’s experience in the playoffs, it is doubtful Chiefs, if they did win, could win by more than a touchdown. We will play the Patriots in 6 point teaser giving us NE at +9.
